THE PROCESS OF TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO ACCOMMODATE 1.5 TO 3 MILLION PEOPLE HAS BEEN A LONG ONE ACCORDING TO METRO ORGANIZERS. THE FIRST SET OF "RULES" RELEASED ARE RELATED TO METRO STATION PARKING ON JAN. 20.
ACCORDING TO METRO THERE WILL BE NO PUBLIC AUTOMOBILE PARKING JAN. 20 AT THE
GREENBELT AND
MORGAN BOULEVARD STATIONS IN MARYLAND, THE
VAN DORN STREET STATION IN VIRGINIA, AND THE
MINNESOTA AVENUE STATION IN THE DISTRICT. THE MINNESOTA AVE. STATION WILL BE USED FOR METRO EMPLOYEE PARKING.
THE TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM PLANS TO USE THE OTHER THREE LOTS TO ACCOMMODATE CHARTER BUSES. ALL PARKING LOTS ARE EXPECTED TO OPEN AS EARLY AS 3:30 AM AND A $4 FEE WILL BE CHARGED FOR USE OF THE LOT. ONLY CASH WILL BE ACCEPTED.
