A WOMAN IN SOUTHEAST WASHINGTON WAS SEVERELY INJURED YESTERDAY AFTER BEING MAULED BY A DOG, WHICH WAS LATER KILLED BY D.C. POLICE.
ACCORDING TO POLICE, THE WOMAN WAS MAULED AROUND 5 OR 6 PM NEAR THE 1800 BLOCK OF 41ST PLACE SE. AUTHORITIES REPORTED THAT THE WOMAN WAS SEVERELY HURT AND IS BELIEVED TO BE IN HER LATE 70S.
SHE WAS FLOWN BY HELICOPTER TO WASHINGTON HOSPITAL CENTER WITH SERIOUS INJURIES TO HER SCALP AND EAR. TWO DOGS ARE BELIEVED TO HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN THE ATTACK, ONE INCLUDING A PIT BULL.
