From left: Ryan Didone, Brittany Jones, Kristin Newport, Christopher Nicholson, and Zachary Kimble.Last night, Montgomery County teen, Ryan Didone, 15, died of his injuries after the car he and four friends were in, veered from the road, struck a tree and caught fire.
The five students were on their way to a local Burger King after leaving a meeting with a Christian youth group, a friend said. Didone was transported to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, which is where he later died. Brittany Jones, 16, another passenger was also taken to the trauma center.
The driver, Zachary Kimble, 17, was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, along with the other passengers, Christopher Nicholson, 17, and Kristin Newport, 15.
All five are students at Damascus High School and lived in the Damascus area. The school has posted on its Web site that guidance counselors and a crisis team would be in place to help students deal with the loss of Didone.
According to police, the cause of the accident is still under investigation.
