Merry Christmas: DC Police Deploy New Speed Cameras

D.C. police are deploying several new speed cameras at several locations. Warning citations began Monday, and live citations will begin on Dec. 26.

The new cameras are at the following locations:

-800 block of Eastern Avenue NE
-5500 block of East Capitol Street NE
-2800 block of New York Avenue NE
-5500 block of East Capitol Street SE
-1900 block of Southern Avenue SE
-Southeast Southwest Freeway at Ninth Street entrance ramp SE
-Southeast Southwest Freeway at Eighth Street SE
-3700 block of Southern Avenue SE
-Suitland Parkway nw/b before Firth Sterling Ave SE
-2900 block of Military Road NW
-5300 block of 14th Street NW

****Tina's Comment, most of these cameras are on hills and are going to catch alot of folks so be careful. The police officer sitting in the car yesterday on Eastern Ave about 5pm, well he was hiding in front of this utility truck. And i believe the ones on East Capitol St are by Central Ave.*****
